Wedding Photography at The Knowle Country House, Higham
The Knowle is a Victorian Gothic Mansion set in 14 acres of orchards and gardens in the village of Higham, just outside the Medway Towns in North Kent.
Just a few miles from Rochester, this family owned and privately run wedding venue provides an honest and down to earth service to really help you feel relaxed throughout your wedding ceremony and through the rest of your wedding day. The Knowle also only accommodate one wedding on any day, so you can be safe in the knowledge that you won't be bumping into another wedding party at any point on your special day.
Most of the weddings that take place at The Knowle are conducted in the Gazebo out in the beautiful rose gardens. Alternatively, the Garden Room can be used.
The Knowle also operates as a restaurant during the week, which means you can be assured not just of excellent service throughout your wedding day, but also of a fantastic array of food, much of which is locally sourced. Not only are the main courses great, but the starters and the desserts (which you can choose from a good old fashioned dessert trolley!) are all of a very high standard as well.
From a wedding photography perspective, you could barely ask for more from a wedding venue. Both the interior and exterior of the 168 year old building are packed with character and the surrounding gardens have countless nooks and crannies which make beautiful backdrops for posed or unposed wedding photos.
On a personal note, I must say that I enjoy working at The Knowle because it was the venue for my own wedding in 2003. The only (minor) downside for me is that so far, every couple I have photographed there has had better weather on their wedding day than we did!
