Situated just off of the A260 between Canterbury, Folkestone and Dover, The Old Kent Barn is a beautiful 200 year old Kentish Barn which makes for a stunning wedding venue in the middle of some beautiful and peaceful Kent countryside.
A truly special venue, The Old Kent Barn boasts a spectacular gazebo for its wedding ceremonies taking place in the spring and summer. It's large enough to comfortably accommodate your witnesses, or even a string quartet!
Up until 2010, The Old Kent Barn's receptions took place in a large, custom-built luxury marquee, but this is set to be trumped in 2011 by a stunning oak framed barn large enough to hold up to 150 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 250 for your evening celebrations. The new barn will also be licensed for ceremonies during the colder parts of the year.
The grounds at Old Kent Barn are well looked after and make for some beautiful photos. Especially at night, when the fairy lights adorning the gazebos come into their own and make for some spectacular shots (see the main photo on my homepage!).
From a photography point of view, The Old Kent Barn has everything that I could ask for. The gazebo where ceremonies take place is stunning. Large, well kept gardens give plenty of options for the group photos, and the fairy lights at night give the venue a magical feel. I'm certainly looking forward to working at The Old Kent Barn again in 2011 to photograph inside the state of the art new reception barn as well.
